Fiji LDS Church College ‘Care Bear club’ successfully organized and hosted the WOWS kids Birthday Celebrations
at the School campus. The Care Bear club is facilitated
by Mereoni Vuidreketi, the school counselor, and Martha Johansson, wife of
Elder Adolf Johansson. The club's main objective is focused on helping students
build confidence through providing services to others.
This Month’s WOWS kids Birthday celebration was
attended by the Fiji Rugby Union Development team, Fiji Athletics Team, Fiji
LDSCC Care Bear club, WOWS Kids Fiji, children living with Cancer, accompanied by their parents, and children from local LDS wards.
The purpose for holding these
monthly Birthday Celebrations was to provide support to the children diagnosed
with Cancer and their parents or guardians. Fanny Fitili, team leader of the
WOWS Kids Fiji paid tribute to the school for facilitating this month’s
celebration. “We’re so grateful to be able
to use the school premise for our activity because it’s nicely sheltered and
safe for the children. Once a month we hold an activity like this to celebrate
the birthdays of the children with cancer for we’re not sure whether they’ll
make it to the next month or the following year or not.”
The Fiji Rugby Union Development
Team and Fiji Athletics Team provided the activities for everyone to enjoy.
