IQ Active Team : Shimran Sharma, Savaira Veikoso, Elliot Rota, and Jatin Narayan. |
The year 2015 has been a year of many firsts for Fiji LDS Church College.
They participated in the first ever Secondary Schools AFL tournament, which saw them being crowned as its first champion. They also fielded an Under 19 soccer team in more than a decade to compete in the Annual Secondary Schools Soccer tournament. They finished top of their Zone and qualified for the nationals where they eventually bowed out in the quarterfinals.
Apart from sporting achievements, LDS also had success in Academic endeavours reaching the top ten in the annual IQ Active competition, which was held at the Civic Centre in Suva during the 2nd term school holidays.
Salote Maiwiriwiri, the school principal, was quite thrilled with the school team’s performance as she thanked them on social media.
“A big vinaka vakalevu to our IQ Active team - Savaira Veikoso, Jatin Narayan, Tomasi Naisausau, Elliot Rota, Shimran Sharma for being the first LDS Church College IQ Active team that made it to the top ten schools competition. It was your first and we thank you for your courage and confidence. Thank you for doing it for all of us. Hats off to the Teachers who took up the challenge to assist (Viliame Levaci and Thelma Racule).”
