Elder Adolf Johansson and President Vito Qaqa this week attended the opening the Women’s Expo 2015 held at the Vodafone Arena from 14 to 16 October 2015.
“Connecting women to markets - make it Happen “ was the theme of the exposition with the objective of assisting rural women market their products and empowering them to participate in business.
600 local artisans from around Fiji were selected from local handicraft shows gathered to show case their handicrafts.
According to the Prime Minister of Fiji, Voreqe Bainimarama who was the chief guest at the opening , this show was an initiative of the Fiji government to assist the women of Fiji who were the "backbone of the nation, the caregivers and custodians of our culture who deserve to be protected." At this show the catering students of the LDS Church College were contracted to provide breakfast for the 600 women participants on the three days of the Expo.
