  • To hear the progress of the church and the new things that will be in placed in coming years
  • To show my gratitude through sustaining those who have been serving and to sustain those who have been called to serve
  • To learn of the Lord’s will to his people and to be taught from on high through our leaders
  • To learn how to better my relationship with those around me and even to the Lord
  • To learn how to become a better member of the church , be a better husband, a better father, a better priesthood holder and to be a better servant.
  • To learn how to respond or how handle challenges as they come with gratitude and appreciation.

I look forward to witnessing the wisdom of our leaders & wisdom that they willingly share with the world. They make Heavenly Father more real to me.

General Conference is a time of gathering for members of the Church of Jesus Christ to listen to inspired messages by the leaders of the church and General Authority Leaders on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Evonne Taufaga a member of the Church from Suva 1st Ward said “I look forward to sustaining our prophets and leaders of the church in the October general conference. It is also a time of reflection as I hear the talks on what I am doing now that I need to stop doing and what I am not doing that I need to start doing.”

I always look forward to General Conference as taught by my family before I got married that the month before conference to remember the prophets/apostles and general authority leaders in our prayers that the messages they have sort inspiration through fasting and prayer may touch our hearts and nourish our souls to be better disciples of Jesus Christ. After we have heard the beautiful messages, we practice it in our families reflecting on the talks that inspired us the most to live it. Now that I am married I have continued to offer these prayers and prepare my family to hear general conference messages. During FHE our family lessons are taught from general conference talks and it is fun and humbling to hear the experiences of each family member as they apply these principles in their daily lives.

Fulisia Maiwiriwiri

Fulisia Maiwiriwiri a member of the church said that she was looking forward to. “I love to hear what the leaders have prayed and fasted about and received as Heavenly Father’s word for his children including little ole me. It’s also an opportunity for me to look back at the last conference to see how well I did in striving to be obedient to what was spoken then. So yes, can’t wait to hear from our general authorities all of whom are men truly called of God!”

Mili Naivedru

I look forward to General Conference as it is when I go and hear the Leaders of the Church even the Living Prophet talk to me about what I need to do or to improve in order to be perfect in my calling as a Mother, a Wife, a Sister and how best I can serve in my Calling in Church.

So, to me, General Conference is really a time for me to renew my perspective and to strengthen my testimony and to rejuvenate my willingness to serve and Lead like the Savior.

Bishop Viliame Levaci

It is a time of re-evaluating myself. It’s a time to come and listen to my leaders, sustain and listen to their counsel. I look forward to learning what new direction our prophet has for us and listen to talks that is especially for me and those that I serve. And of course how I can better myself.

Thanks Sulu, appreciate the opportunity to do so.

What General Conference means to me, it is the only time that I can get to receive a personalized message from my dear prophet Pres. Thomas S. Monson and all the other leaders. I am looking forward to learning from their wise counsels of love, support and encouragement that sustains me till the next conference.
